The “Addams Family TV Show Theme” originated with the Addams Family TV Show. It was written and composed by Vic Mizzy. However, this song failed to make the musical charts.
The melody of the song includes finger snaps as a percussion element in the song. It also includes a deep lurch voice as an element.
The Addams family TV show ran on ABC from 1964 to 1966.
The TV Show was original a series of cartoons in the New Yorker magazine by Charles Addams. The family didn’t really have a name but was given that name later for the TV show.
The show was loosely based on the eccentric recluse surrealist Chester Addams who was partly famous for his eccentricities. Obviously it played better if it was an entire family, one person doesn’t make for good comedy.
