Information About Bananas in Pajamas

Bananas in Pajamas was written by Australian composer Carey Blyton in 1967. Originally 'Bananas in Pyjamas', he wrote it for the Aussie children's show Play School.

The song became so popular that they based a children's show on it. It premiered July 20, 1992 on ABC. The spelling was changed from 'pyjamas' to 'pajamas' to reflect the American pronunciation of the word.

They released an album in 1997, called Bumping and A Jumping. The show was retooled and revived as an all-CGI cartoon in 2011.
