Brady Bunch TV Theme

Here's the story of a lovely lady,
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls.
All of them had hair of gold, like their mother,
The youngest one in curls.

Here's the story, of a man named Brady,
Who was busy with three boys of his own.
They were four men, living all together,
Yet they were all alone.

Till the one day when the lady met this fellow,
And they knew that it was much more than a hunch.
That this group would somehow form a family.
That's the way we all became the Brady Bunch.
The Brady Bunch, The Brady Bunch.

That's the way we became the Brady Bunch.

Information About Brady Bunch TV Theme

The original theme was composed by Sherwood Schwartz who also produced 'Gilligan's Island' and Frank De Vol. Schwartz was the show's creator and De Vol was an arranger for famous singers like Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald.

In the opening 1969 season the Brady Bunch TV Theme was performed by the Peppermint Trolley Company. They were a relatively unknown sixties pop group from Redlands, California that only recorded one album. The lead singers were brothers Jimmy and Danny Faragher.

The cast of the Brady kids recorded a new version of the Brady Bunch TV Theme for the second season. The musicians came from Paramount Television.

In the third season the Bradys recorded yet another version in which the male singers alternated with the female singers in the opening verses. The third and fourth verses were sung by both the boys and girls.

The Brady Bunch series consisted of 117 shows over five seasons. The show did not have high ratings during those years, but came back strong in reruns.

The Brady kids actually recorded four albums during the 1970s on MCA Records. Some of the songs such as "Time to Change" appeared in a show about Greg Brady trying to start a singing group with his brothers and sisters.

Listed as "Theme from The Brady Bunch,' the show's theme song was released on an album calledTelevision's Greatest Hits, Volume II in 1986. The theme also appeared on the albumIt's a Sunshine Day: The Best of The Brady Bunch in 1993.

Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady, attempted a recording career in the 2000s but was unable to achieve musical success. In 2000 he recorded a song called "The Real Greg Brady,' which was a parody of the Eminem hit "The Real Slim Shady".

We are not sure if this version was ever played on the TV show

Here's a story of a homeless lady
Who was bringing up three very homely girls
All of them had teeth of gold like their mother
The youngest one corn-rows.

Here's the story of a man name Rat-ee
Who was busy with three boys of his own
Their were 4 men on each corner
Yet they needed help.

Till the one day when the lady met this fellow
And he didn't know how he'd pay for lunch
That the group would somehow form a gang
That's the way they all became the Rat-ee bunch!

Another version from the show

You can watch Mr. Rogers
You can watch Three's Company
And you can turn on fame or the Newlywed Game
Or the Addams family.

I say, you can watch Barney Miller
And you can watch your MTV
And you can watch 'till your eyes fall out of your head
That'll be ok with me.

And you can watch (tv).

You can watch Johnny Carson
You can watch Phil Donahue
And you can use TV guide to help you decide
With capsulized review.

Say, you can watch 60 Minutes
Even Captain Kangaroo
But there's only one set, so what ever you watch
Well, you know I gotta watch it too.

Say, give it up, give it up, television's taking it's toll
That's enough, that's enough, gimme the remote control
I been nice, I been good, please don't do this to me
Turn it off, turn it off, I don't want to have to see.

The Brady Bunch
Not the Brady Bunch
Well, the Brady Bunch
Yeah, the Brady Bunch.

It's the story of a lovely lady
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls
All of them had hair of gold, like their mother
The youngest one in curls.

It's a story of a man named Brady
Who was busy with three boys of his own
They were four men living all together
Yeah, but they were all alone.

Until the one day, one day when the lady met the fellow
And they knew, and they knew it was much more than a hunch
Then they knew this group must somehow form a family
That's the way, that's the way, that's the way they all became.

The Brady Bunch
Well, the Brady Bunch
Yeah, the Brady Bunch
Well, the Brady Bunch
Oh, it's the Brady Bunch
It's the Brady Bunch
Oh, the Brady Bunch, yeah
Oh, the Brady Bunch
It's the Brady Bunch
Well, it's the Brady Bunch
Well, it's the Brady Bunch
Well, it's the Brady Bunch
It's the Brady Bunch.
