Thank you for this site. I was racking my brains for 2 days trying to remember the opening line of this ditty! If you've ever read the Fables comic books by Bill Willingham, you'll understand why at times adults without children of their own sometimes search out childhood information that's become hazy with age! His stories have re-activated my college-days fascination with fairy tales, fables and rhymes. They are, after all, our oral traditions and have tremendous value for that alone. Again, thanks!
