I learned this song many years ago in Boy Scouts as a campfire song. The lyrics were humorous, but some of the ones in this version, which could be offensive were not in the version I learned.

I heard this song many years ago when I was about 7 or 8 from a cousin, who was about 3 years older than me. He was a little devil and very smart. I had forgotten it until something brought it back to me. Forget the PC criticism. It is what it is, a catchy song with a wonderful devilish lyrics.

I LOVE THIS SONG, I REMEMBER MY MOTHER SINGING THIS WHEN I WAS VERY LITTLE AND THE TUNE JUST CAME TO MIND TODAY SO I ASKED THE QUESTION AS TO WHO WROTE IT AND THEY ACTUALLY POSTED ALL THE ACTUAL WORDS . I LOVE IT AND AS FOR LITTLE CHILDREN LEARNING THIS I THINK THEY WILL LIKE THAT IT RHYMES BUT I DOUBT IT WOULD DAMAGE THEM MENTALLY .

My 5th grade camp counselor taught us this song back in 1975, which I thought was just a simple barbershop quartet! As an elementary school music teacher, I am frankly shocked to see this version of the song. I hope you reconsider featuring these obviously offensive lyrics on your children's website here. Time to pull it. :0
