Go In And Out The Window

Song Video

Lyrics

Go in and out the window,
Go in and out the window,
Go in and out the window,
As we have done before.

Go up and down the staircase,
Go up and down the staircase,
Go up and down the staircase,
As we have done before.

Go round and round the village,
Go round and round the village,
Go round and round the village,
As we have done before.

Stand and face your partner,
Stand and face your partner,
Stand and face your partner,
As we have done before.

Now follow her to London,
Now follow her to London,
Now follow her to London,
As we have done before.

Now shake his hand and leave him,
Now shake his hand and leave him,
Now shake his hand and leave him,
As we have done before.

I play this game with my dog. I sit on the edge of a chair and sing the song. He's short enough to get between to legs and between the tow legs. I only know the first and forth verse, but my forth verse is "go in and seek your lover". I only know the two verses but my dog does not know the difference.

When we first listened to your songs my family couldn't stop singing them. Keep it up!

For the first verse, typically the main group of children hold hands forming a circle. The chosen one (or ones) then weaves in and out of the circle, going under the clasped hands of each pair in turn (going "in" one window and "out" the next). This is the only movement with which I am familiar, but the lyrics suggest actions for rest of the verses as well.
