Information About Hinky Dinky Parlez Vous

"Hinky Dinky Parlez Vous" or "Hinky Dinky Parley Voo" is the English name for the French song "Mademoiselle from Armentičres", the bawdy versions of which, were routinely sung during World War I.

It is not sure who is responsible for the words to the English version, however the tune of the song was believed to have been popular in the French Army in the 1830s. During the Franco-Prussian war of 1870, the tune was resurrected, and again in 1914 when the British Army got to know of it.
