I Just Wanna Be A Sheep

Song Video

I just wanna be a sheep
Baa, baa, baa, baa
I just wanna be a sheep
Baa, baa, baa, baa
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
I just wanna be a sheep
Baa, baa, baa, baa,.

Don't wanna be a goat? Nope
Don't wanna be a goat? Nope
Haven't got any hope? Nope
Don't wanna be a goat? Nope.

Don't wanna be a hypocrite
Don't wanna be a hypocrite
'Cause they're not hip to it
Don't wanna be a hypocrite.

Don't wanna be a Pharisee
Don't wanna be a Pharisee
'Cause they're not fair you see
Don't wanna be a Pharisee.

Don't wanna be a Sadducee
Don't wanna be a Sadducee
'Cause they're so sad you see
Don't wanna be a Sadducee.

Just wanna be a child of God
Just wanna be a child of God
Walkin' the same path He trod
Just wanna be a child of God.

IRS a cute song. the theme is you want to be like a sheep. a sheep follows his /her leader. so Jesus. says we should be like sheep and follow Him.

I love this song and I'm only 40! If you understand the gospel of Jesus then you would understand the meaning of the simple yet great song. We actually sing it at our church from time to time.

Ken, John and Nathan, please read Matthew 25:31 and John 10. This is not presuming the children know how sheep and goats act. This has to do with the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd. This expands on what they have already been taught in Sunday School or religious classes.

I think that John and Nathan may not understand that songs can help TEACH children about things. I use this song and I teach the children about the vocabulary in the song. WE learn what the jobs were and why we don't want to be like them. If you just teach kids anything mindlessly, then you are not TEACHING. So, don't get so offended by it. I notice you are not from the USA, so it could be a bit of a cultural thing. So, I may not be understanding why you find it so offensive and If I've missed the point you are trying to make, then, I'm sorry. But, there are many times in the Bible, where we hear the various groups questioning Jesus, some make trouble for him, etc. This song is such a great way to get the kids to learn those names and start making a difference in understanding them. I do agree that kids shouldn't be taught most anything if they aren't being taught. Thanks and God Bless you all.

Sheep are known for being mindless and unquestioning followers who go with the crowd. This song teaches the children to shun other groups without learning about them and just follow their peers without asking why. A terrible song to teach young children as they are developing their curiosity and thirst for learning, it is not okay to be wilfully ignorant.

What dreadful lyrics. Why would anyone want to indoctrinate children into mindless obedience and to turn off their inquiring minds?

What an awful thing to teach children, whoever is moderating this, I'm sure it will not get through, but I just wanted to say: Shame on you for seeking to destroy these innocent children's true potential.

A bunch of middle-aged and older ladies at a retreat enjoyed singing and doing some motions along with the kids at Youth Haven Ranch in Rives Junction, Michigan earlier this month. Good words.
