Information About Little Bunny FuFu (Foo Foo)

The origins of "Little Bunny Foo Foo" are unknown, but it has become a popular children's folklore.

It is known as "Little Rabbit Foo Foo" as well as "Little Bunny FuFu".

This is a repetitive song that provides a moral to the story. It has an upbeat melody and is usually sung by an adult to a child while using hand gestures. It is sung to the tune of "Down by the Station".

Many parent and educators have found this kind of song very helpful when teaching motor skills to children.

It can be seen in many illustrated children's story books.

It tells of a story of a bunny that is harassing a field of mice. The bunny is then scolded three times by a fairy, and later punished for its actions.

In some versions, instead of "Good Fairy", the lyrics read as: Blue Fairy, Mother Nature, Fairy Princess, or Little Angel. Also, in some versions "Fu Fu" is sometimes spelled as "Foo Foo".

Alternative Lyrics & Related Songs

This version is all about the Rabbit

Little Rabbit Fufu Hopping through the forest
HaHa Ha Haha you can't catch me
Bam Bam Bam Bambam goes Mexican's shotgun
Little rabbit Fufu bushing up daises.

Here is another version

"Little Bunny Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest
Scoopin' up the field mice
Bop 'em on the head!
Then the Good Fairy came and said:
'Little Bunny Foo Foo
I don't wanna see you
Scoopin' up the field mice
Bop 'em on the head!
I'll give you 3 chances,
And if you don't behave, I'll turn you into a goon".

Children enjoy this song and think it is very funny, definitely gets their attention So a good opportunity to get them to think about bunny Foo Foo's actions.., Do they think that his behavior is good or bad and why. How would the mice feel?

I think this is a cute song that may teach children not to bully other kids.

I learned this song when I was young. My Mom has a cousin who put out children's cassette tapes of mostly her own songs but some covers. I had 3 or 4 of them and Little Bunny Foo-Foo was on one of them. She sang the first version they show and when he would "bopping them on the head" you'd hear a little *plop!* noise.. Sadly, after 22 years, my Mom still cannot find that specific song my Mar. If you would like to check out her kids songs, her title is "Music with Mar (pronounced "Mare")I'm pretty sure that's on of the album titles, I DEFINITELY know it's one of her songs. "Music with Mar is lots of fun..." Thank you SO MUCH for bringing back a tender piece of childhood, it means the world to me considering all the ailments in life now that we put up with. ~P.S. I was just on the phone with my Husband and he was asleep; I secretly sung the song to him gently. I felt a maternal feelings when I sung it, like I was protecting him from bad dreams.

My 32 yr old daughter learned this song in pre-school. She loved it so much she taught it to the family. Now many years later I sing it to my Maltese dog, Lexington at bedtime every night. It's amazing what empty nester's will do for their dogs!

This is a great song. I learned this song in about the 2nd or 3rd grade, I'm now 54, I still sing it. In fact every Easter I call my brother-in-law up and leave him a message singing this song he thinks it's great! He cracks up. So you folks that finds this offensive I think something is seriously wrong, there are a lot of other things to be offended about and it's not this song.

Wow. I haven't heard this song in about three years, until my fith grade teacher started whistling it about three monthes ago. Now i have it stuck in my head. Even though i'm eleven years old, i still love this song. It's a classic. Plus, why do they make you answer a question to ensure that i'm human?!?!?! It's really odd. And pointless.:)

My nickname at gymnastics is Bunny Foo Foo. Mainly cuz I bounce around like a bunny. Who cares if it's for little people? Im 13, oldest in the class, I've been Bunny Foo Foo for as long as I can remember. I have some socks that are pink, have little white bunnies on them, and a cotton tail. This is my theme song.
