Information About Little Jack Horner
Little Jack Horner is a famous old English nursery rhyme. There is reference to the character Jack Horner in a poem called Namby Pamby by Henry Carey dated 1725. Carey wrote this poem supposedly as a satire on writer Ambrose Philips.
At some point during the 19th century it was rumored that ‘’Little Jack Horner’’ was about Thomas Horner who was steward to Richard Whiting, the last abbot of Glastonbury Abbey prior to the monasteries being dismantled by Henry VIII of England.
