Me and My Teddy Bear

Song Lyrics & Words

In the house next door right next to mine
a little boy lives there
at Xmas time dear Santa Claus
brought him a teddy bear

He loves his little teddy bear
he's with it all day long
and the sweetest thing I've ever heard
is to hear him sing this song

Me and my teddy bear
have no worries, have no cares
me and my teddy bear
just play and play all day<

I love my teddy bear
he has one eye and has no hair
but I love my teddy bear
we play and play all day

Every night he's with me
when I climb up the stairs
and by my bed he listens
until I say my prayers

Oh, me and my teddy bear
have no worries, have no cares
me and my teddy bear
just play and play all day

Every night he's with me
when I climb up the stairs
and by my bed he listens
until I say my prayers

Oh, me and my teddy bear
have no worries, have no cares
me and my teddy bear
just play and play all day
just play and play all day

I am a 59 yr. old grandmother. I had a 45 record as a child of "Me and My Teddy Bear". I loved that song as a child. Over the years I lost the record but still have the wonderful memory that warms my heart when I think of this song. Thank you sooo very much for having it on your list. Now, I can pass this song onto my grand children. I'll sign off by signing.. A very greatful grandmother.

I had a tape of teddy bear songs as a child and only have a very poor copy of it, including 'Me and My Teddy Bear.' I'm 30 now and about to have children of my own and pleased that the lyrics I remember are correct! Thanks!

I'm 59 years old and I remember sitting in my Mom's lap as she rocked me in the rocking chair when I was sick. Everyone in the house was asleep and I would hear her sing this song. My Mom passed away in 2004 but I can still remember how much love she put into that song when she sang it. I just sang it to my little grandsons and they loved it as I did so many years ago.

I'm a 49 yr. old grandmother and I remember this song as a little girl going to Art Linklatter Dance Studio in Downers Grove Illinois. We did a song and dance a show on a big stage somewhere. I had to be maybe 5? I didn't know how to read so, seeing the song is quite heart warming. I remembered most of the words too.. which is amazing!

I too, had this 45 and remember that I also loved the song on the reverse. It was some sort of marching song and I doesn't seem like there were any words - just music. Does anyone remember the name of that song? I would love to find a copy of both songs for my grandson if anyone knows where I can do that.
