So the sad thing is I am 21 and so far after reading all the comments and the lyrics posted here and other places...I can tell you when I was in school we combined all the versions of the song. I think we did Ms. Suzzie but when i lived in england it was ms lucy. Whatever the case its a good childrens rhyme. I love it to this day. Today at my work we were trying to remember this song we all knew one or two lines.. "hello operator give me number 9 and if you dissconect me.." we could not remember anything else. We knew the tune though..bugged us and got under our skin. I will go in tomorrow and tell everyone all the versions that are here. Thank you.

This is interesting. When we sang it as kids, there were no references to boys or kissing. A lot more innocent than some of the things the other kids were singing!

me and my momma both remember this when we grew up but I never remember the name per say if it was Lucy, Suzie or what because to us the fun part was you almost got to cuss without cussing that was the fun part of this little song. If you notice how many of you adults talkin about whats the real version and all it really don't matter everywhere was taught different from the area you grew up in. Thats why it was funner as a kid because adults over analyze things which makes it not as fun anymore.

Have you ever herd this: Miss. Lucy had a baby his name is Tiny Tim she put him in the bath tub to see if he can swim insted he drank the bath water and ate all the soap he tryed to eat the bath tub but it wouldent go down his throat Miss. Wow , I know the song but what actually got my attention in these posts in the terrible spelling displayed.Simple kindergarten words spelled wrong, some words I couldn't even figure out what it was supposed to be.
