Pink Pajamas

Lyrics

I wear my pink pajamas in the summer when it's hot.
And I wear my flannel nightie in the winter when it's not.
And sometimes in the Springtime and sometimes in the fall,
I jump between the sheets with nothing on at all.

Glory, glory what's it to ya,
Balmy breeze is blowin' through ya
And sometimes in the Springtime and sometimes in the fall,
I jump between the sheets with nothing on at all.

There is a second verse to the song

Mama, wash my underwear
mama, wash my only pair
mama, wash my underwear
Because i have nothing on.

And A 3rd Verse you can add

I wake up in the morning with the covers on my head
And my little tootsie wootsies are sticking out of bed
And 3 times out of 4 I find myself upon the floor
And I won't drink coca-cola before bedtime anymore!

There are lots more verses for this song, e.g. One grasshopper jumped right over the other grasshopper's back (x) They ere only playing leap frog (3x) When one grasshopper jumped right over the other grasshopper's back One mosquito bit the other mosquito on the back (etc) They were only playing cannibal. One flea fly flew up the flue, the other flea fly flew down. They were only playing flue fly. One black bug bled blue-black blood, the other black bug bled blue (6x) One coiled cobra coiled up the cob, the other coiled cobra coiled down (6x)

@Bob from Elkton, I realize you may never see this comment but just so others know, this song is sung to the tune of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and you sing the second verse of this song the same way you sing the chorus of "Battle Hymn".

How do you sing the second verse it doesn't seem to fit the toon when I sing it.

My grandfather used to sing this at big celebrations and get the whole family into it. He sang all sorts of unheard of songs at these things. It was lovely and one of my fondest memories of him when he was alive.
