Six Little Ducks

Song Video

Lyrics

Six little ducks that I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones too
But the one little duck with the feather on her back
She led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack
She led the others with a quack, quack, quack.

Well down to the river they did go
Wibble wobble, wibble wobble, ho ho ho
But the one little duck with the feather on her back
She led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack
She led the others with a quack, quack, quack.

Well home from the river they did come
Wibble wobble, wibble wobble, ho hum hum
But the one little duck with the feather on his back
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack.

Information About Six Little Ducks

"Six Little Ducks" is a young children's song and game the origin of which is unknown. For an alternative version see "2 Little Duckies".

To play the game you can try the following actions: Six kids stand together one in front and one behind like they were in line. The one at the back puts their hands around the front to clap and one at the front puts their hands at their back to be the feathers, then they wibble wobble through the verse and turn around together to show the feathers on their back while wiggling their fingers, and then turn around again without breaking apart to clap, clap, clap on the quacking.

Alternative Lyrics & Related Songs

This is a longer version that is also fun to sing to

Six little ducks
That I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones,
Fair ones, too
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Down to the river
They would go
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
To and fro
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Back from the river
They would come
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
Ho, hum, hum
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Into the water they would dive
Over and under the other five
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

Home from the river they would go
Wibble wobble, wibble wobble,
Ho hum hum
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack.

This version can be used to help teach counting backwards

Six little ducks that I once knew
Sad ones, happy ones, some like you
But the one little duck with the feathers on his back
Waddled to his mama with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack. Quack, quack, quack
Waddled to his mama with a quack, quack, quack

Five little ducks that I once knew
Silly ones, funny ones, some like you
But the one little duck with the feathers on his back
Waddled to the shore with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack. Quack, quack, quack
Waddled to the shore with a quack, quack, quack

Four little ducks that I once knew
Jolly ones, bright ones, some like you
But the one little duck with the feathers on his back
Waddled through the water with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack. Quack, quack, quack
Waddled through the water with a quack, quack, quack

Three little ducks that I once knew
Old ones, young ones, some like you
But the one little duck with the feathers on his back
Waddled up a hill with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack. Quack, quack, quack
Waddled up a hill with a quack, quack, quack

Two little ducks that I once knew
Play together, just like you
But the one little duck with the feathers on his back
Waddled by a frog with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack. Quack, quack, quack
Waddled by a frog with a quack, quack, quack

One little duck that I once knew
A happy little duck, the same as you
This one little duck with the feathers on his back
Waddled to his family with a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack. Quack, quack, quack
Waddled to his family with a quack, quack, quack

This is a shorter version

Six little ducks that I once knew,
Fat ducks, pretty ducks they were too,
But the one little duck with the feather on his back,
He led the others with his quack - quack - quack.
Quack - quack - quack, quack - quack - quack,
He led the others with his quack - quack - quack.

Down to the meadow they would go,
Wig-wag, wiggle-wag, to and fro,
But the one little duck with the feather on his back,
He led the others with his quack - quack - quack.
Quack - quack - quack, quack - quack - quack,
He led the others with his quack - quack - quack.

Loved you doing this song! I do family home child care and currently watch 6 children ages 2 to 5. We saw a momma duck and her baby ducklings at the park yesterday so followed up today with the Ugly Duckling book and your video. I was just looking for the lyrics of the song but was thrilled to find you playing and singing it. Thank you so much. We all loved it! Barbara and children (Julianna, Elaine, Aubrey, Jasiah, Hailey, and Bryce)
