Born on Monday,

Information About Solomon Grundy

"Solomon Grundy" is an English children's nursery rhyme belonging to the 19th century, and recorded by James Orchard Halliwell in1842.

In the poem, the lines talk about Solomon Grundy's life during a single week and have changed very little since their first publication. Each day's events represent the 'seven ages of man'.

The poem was possibly devised to help teach children the days of the week.

I like the poem because it is used to teach kids on how to quickly remember the days of the week. The lyrics is ok as children recite it happily although it has a sad end but above all its educative.

According to me, this nursery rhyme that helps children to learn the days of the week is very sad, because italian children usually use a nursery rhyme a little chicken.

It's an interesting story but very strange. Some mates like it, some mates don't like at all. Our teacher asks us to learn it by boring :-O

It's a very sad rhyme. In Italy we learn the days of the week through a rhyme about a little cute chick.

Solomon grundy is a villain who has been seen in superman and batman alike, he cannot be truly killed and on the brink of death he is reborn and he is a big monster who was once a human who wanted to die but know he cant because he is a big monster who is revived every time he dies.
