Picnic time for teddy bears,
the little teddy bears are having a lovley time today,
see them on there holidays they like to picnic on there jolly days,
see them gaylie gad about they like to sing and shout they never have any cares,
at 6 o'clock their mummys and daddies will take them home to bed because they're tired little teddy bears.

In 1947 there was a radio program on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. It was called Lets Pretend and I never missed hearing it. The theme song was Teddybear's Picnic.! When learning to play piano and to read music in in the 1980's I was glancing through our book of required music, and there it was! I learned it even though it was not required. In the music book it was called something like music in e flat!

I am alarmed by the fact that some of your correspondents cannot spell! "There" should be "their" (possessive), for example, in the "alternative lyrics" post. Also, "lovley" is really spelled "lovely", "gaylie" is spelled "gaily", and the plural of "mummy" is "mummies". I do hope this person has nothing to do with the education of children!

! I love this song, my daughters grandmother had it for my husband as a child, and kept it for her. She played it all the time as a child, now she is having her first baby, and I'm looking for a CD with all the old songs. ! ! You can get information on this song on songfacts.com and it was released in 1932 by Henry Hall. Teddy Bear's Picnic. ENJOY! !

Silent Ballyhoo Talkies presentation of the Teddy Bears picnic is sick, filthy humor that is not appropriate for anyone. It should be removed.
