Farmer And Maiden, The
The farmer and the maiden
The farmer and the Maiden,
They were wooing i declare,
Out behind the garden gate
They didn't know i was there.
Now the farmer he was bashful
And the maiden she was shy
He asked her if he could
And this was her reply.
You can do it if you want to
But you gotta do it right
And don't you dare to do it
Like you did the other night

The version I grew up with was Quite a bit longer. "Cause if You do I'm telling you, I'll never let you do it again... I mean my laundry, I'll never let you do it again. The Washer Broke. And there was granny swinging on the outhouse door without her nighty, baby could you ask for more, she asked for Grandpa Swinging on the outhouse door. Two dollars please. They made a million, coulda made a million more, swinging on the outhouse door. The hinges Broookkke.

I've been signing this since I was a kid - my babysitter taught it to me. No one else has ever heard of it. My version is just slightly different..."cause if you do, I'm telling you, I'll never let you do it again. I mean the washing. I'll never let you do it again. And there goes granny sitting on the outhouse porch without a nighty, waiting for the garbage man. He was a playboy, baby could you ask for more? Two dollars please.
