The Frog's Goodbye

Goodbye, everybody, I'm going away,
In my snug little house all the winter I'll stay;
I rarely get up once I'm tucked into bed,
And as it grows colder, I cover my head.

I sleep very soundly the whole winter through,
And I really enjoy that there's nothing to do!
The flies are all gone, and I've nothing to eat,
So I take this time to enjoy a good sleep.

My bed isn't fancy - a hole in the ground,
Ahh, but snug as a bug in a rug I'll be found!
You'd think that without food, I'd grow very thin,
But no! I stay plump just like when I go in.

And now, goodbye I must say to one and all;
But one warm day next spring, I will give you a call.
It's easy to tell when to get out of bed:
As soon as the sunshine beats down on my head!
