This Little Piggie Went To Market

Lyrics

This little piggie went to market,
This little piggie stayed home,
This little piggie had roast beef,
This little piggie had none,
And this little piggie cried, "Wee! Wee! Wee!"
All the way home.

(Use your finger to wiggle each toe starting with the biggest).

Some additional lyrics sent in from a BusSongs visitor

How I remember dear old Mommie,
Putting me to bed.
She tucked me in and said
To her little sleepy head:.

This little piggie was a bad little piggie
Who cried all the way home.
Years have passed
But it's still my favorite poem.

I hope and pray some day I'll say
To a cute little piggie of my own:
This little piggie went to market
And this little piggie stayed home.

Another fun version

This little piggie
Went to market
This little piggie
Stayed home
This little piggie
Had roast beef
This little piggie
Had none
And this little piggie cried,
"Wee, wee, wee, wee,"
All the way home.

My Grandmother use to always sing, do this to my toes. Also sing I Love you a bushel and a peck. Three little fishies in an itty bitty brook. I've been working on the railroad all the live long day. Little bunny foo foo hopping thru the forest, picking up the fieldmice and bopping them on the head. Row Row Row your boat, gently down the stream. Three Blind Mice. How much is that doggie in the window, the one with that waggely tail. Ring around the Rosie, pocket full of posey, ashes ashes we all fall down. 10 little Indians. Oh where oh where can my little dog be. And other cute ones. GOD BLESS US ALL EVERYWHERE O:-)

My mom changed this when I was young, as we are vegetarians. In our family, we say: This little piggy went to the market This little piggy stayed home This little piggy had something to eat This little piggy had none And this little piggy cried, "wee wee wee", all the way home

In our young days, circa 1935 we added to the line: This little pig had roast beef AND GRAVY.
