This Old Man (Knick-knack Paddy-whack)
This old man, he played one,
He played knick-knack on my thumb.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played two,
He played knick-knack on my shoe.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played three,
He played knick-knack on my knee.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played four,
He played knick-knack on my door.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played five,
He played knick-knack on my hive.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played six,
He played knick-knack on my sticks.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played seven,
He played knick-knack up in heaven.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played eight,
He played knick-knack on my gate.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played nine.
He played knick-knack on my spine.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone.
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played ten.
He played knick-knack once again.
With a knick-knack, paddy whack,
Give a dog a bone.
This old man came rolling home.

As a child of 4 I saw on TV an ad for a fisher price toy movie camera. In the ad the camera played this song so that is how I identified the camera. My mother was frantic at Christmas try to figure out what a Damned nick Knack camera was. She did find out and I got my camera. This song has been a favoritemy whole life.

Stephen, that was a sweet story. I looked up the lyrics because, for some unknown reason I was singing this to myself one evening. Although the lyrics I remember were more.....generic is a good word, I like this version.
