The authors of this poem were sisters Ann and Jane Taylor. The first publication date was 1806. But the melody of this poem has been taken from the symphony "Number 40 in G Minor, K. 550" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart who composed this on July 25, 1788 at the age of 32 years The original song lyrics are about a child's desire for candy!

In Germany this is a Christmas song, the name is "Morgen Kommt der Weinachtsman" which means "Tomorrow Santa Claus Comes".

Author's name Jane Taylor and the song can be found in The Books of Knowledge". The proper name for song is "The Little Star".
