I was lucky to have a very special first and second grade years at an old elementary school called Roosevelt, and very special teachers, as well. We would sing this magical song in the little music room with little benches made just for children our ages. It was my favorite, because I could remember all of the words so easily. Later, my Grandmother, Lillian, grew Lilies of the Valley outside of her kitchen window in the shade. They were so perfect. I just love them.

My cousin and I sang this as a round when we were about 10 years old, about 55 years ago. We lived in Canada at the time.

This song brings back memories of the Lily of the Valley flowers that were planted by the kitchen window. their smell permeated the air as you walked by the window. I can still picture my mom at the kitchen sink. Now each spring I look forward to that beautiful smell and the memories of my mom. It is my favorite flower.

Sang this song to my two children, and now my grandchildren. Spring is here and my two grandaughters are looking forward to the Lilies of the Valley blooming so they can sing as they admire their simple beauty! Seems like 60 or so years ago is the popular age! Me, too.

This song was taught to me in Junior Hi when my church send me to a bigger city to my church's campus for a week of study. What wonderful memories of 65 years ago. ! taught this song to my children but sang the last line "when the Angels sing." My daughter and I have done the round many times even since her children are grown!

My grandma would sing this whenever she saw lilies of the valley. She was killed in '75 and I was born in 88, but my mom sings it because it reminds her of her mother :)

Planting coral bells in my garden this season made me think of the song I sung in my childhood, I'm now 59 yrs. old. I was in Brownies and Girl Scouts.
