I have always heard "when the angels sing" rather than "when fairies sing" Maybe because it was bible school.

My sister and cousin used to sit at the piano while my cousin played and we all sang. We were in our early teens. This was one of my favorites and it just popped into my head tonight. I'm now 62 ... such fond memories.

I learned this song as a little girl and it stuck with me through the next 60 years. It was one of those songs that would just pop in my head whenever I worked with flowers. As a child, I didn't wonder about the words but later I couldn't figure out how a flower could be white and corral. We do have corral colored one's outside our Pastors window now.

My mother sang this to me as a child and grew them in her garden. I sang the song at her funeral ten years ago and now grow them in my garden to remind me of her.

I was lucky to have a very special first and second grade years at an old elementary school called Roosevelt, and very special teachers, as well. We would sing this magical song in the little music room with little benches made just for children our ages. It was my favorite, because I could remember all of the words so easily. Later, my Grandmother, Lillian, grew Lilies of the Valley outside of her kitchen window in the shade. They were so perfect. I just love them.

My cousin and I sang this as a round when we were about 10 years old, about 55 years ago. We lived in Canada at the time.

This song brings back memories of the Lily of the Valley flowers that were planted by the kitchen window. their smell permeated the air as you walked by the window. I can still picture my mom at the kitchen sink. Now each spring I look forward to that beautiful smell and the memories of my mom. It is my favorite flower.

Sang this song to my two children, and now my grandchildren. Spring is here and my two grandaughters are looking forward to the Lilies of the Valley blooming so they can sing as they admire their simple beauty! Seems like 60 or so years ago is the popular age! Me, too.

My grandma would sing this whenever she saw lilies of the valley. She was killed in '75 and I was born in 88, but my mom sings it because it reminds her of her mother :)
