You'll Never Walk Alone

Song Video

Lyrics

When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark.

Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.

Information About You'll Never Walk Alone

"You'll Never Walk Alone" is a tune from Rodgers and Hammerstein 1945 musical, "Carousel". In the musical's 2nd act, the female protagonist Julie Jordan's cousin Nettie Fowler, sings "You'll Never Walk Alone" to try and comfort Julie, after her husband Billy Bigelow had killed himself following a failed robbery.

The song has been recorded by various artists including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Elvis Presley and Doris Day.

But it is the 1963 version by Gerry and the Pacemakers that has maintained the song's popular appeal. This version became the anthem of Liverpool Football Club and has also been adopted by other football clubs from around the world.
