"You're a Grand Old Flag" is a patriotic tribute to the flag of the United States. The song (and music) were written by George M. Cohan in 1906.
Originally entitled "You're a Grand Old Rag" after an encounter George M. Cohan had with a Civil War veteran who had fought at Gettysburg and referred to the flag he was holding as "she's a grand old rag". The song title was later changed to the more fitting title "You're a Grand Old Flag.

A short version that also appreciates the grand old flag
Its a grand old flag,
Its a high flying flag
Its the emblem for me and for you,
Its the emblem of, the team we love,
The team of the red and blue,
Every heart beats true
For the red and the blue
And we sing this song to you,
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye an the red and the blue.
