Great song, very catchy! (and by catchy I mean it gets stuck in my head!) but why is this in the parody section? This is the actual song from the movie and I just think it should be moved to a different genre.

This comes from a song from the Disney 1946 live action and animated movie Song of the South, sung by James Baskett. The music was written by Allie Wrubel, the lyrics by Ray Gilbert and was published in 1946. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. A number of other music artists have covered it as well. Most recently, Miley Cyrus. Suppose you could find the singing of the words on You Tube as clips from/of the movie.

Love You Bussongs.com! Thank You-Thank You All! For all the great info on this song-and the Movie, "Song of the South"! Was trying to order it from Disney-to show it and teach the song to my 3 yr. old grandson-with no luck! Utterly ridiculous-when it's probably one of the all-time most beloved AND memorable of all their films-by everone who was lucky enough to see it as a child-or as an adult! They don't tell you why it's not available from Disney!

I remember this song from when I was little and I taught it to my 4 yr old grandaughter. She loves it and says "This song makes me feel happy!" I wondered if I had the words right and sure enough I did after all these years.
