Love, exciting and new,
Come aboard.
We're expecting you.
Love, life's sweetest reward.
Let it flow,
it floats back to you.

The Love Boat
soon will be making another run.
The Love Boat promises something for everyone.
Set a course for adventure,
Your mind on a new romance.

Love won't hurt anymore
It's an open smile on a friendly shore.

It's Looooove!
Welcome aboard - It's Looooove!

Moving around like the Pop It crew is the way to the perfect dance for you!

Information About Love Boat TV Theme

The "Love Boat" was an American television series that ran from 1977 - 1987 on ABC Television. The plot revolved around the passengers and crew of the "Pacific Princess" cruise ship, and the show was light-hearted in nature; generally the episodes dealt with (mis) adventures on the ship or shore excursions, or romances of the passengers.

The show starred Gavin MacLeod at the ship's captain, Merrill Steubing, and other regulars included Bernie Kopell as the ship's doctor, and Fred Grandy as the ship's purser. Grandy later was elected US Representative from the state of Iowa. Each week there were many guest stars, who were usually celebrities from movies or television.

The title song "The Love Boat TV Theme" was written by Paul Williams (lyrics) and Charles Fox (music). For most of the seasons, it was sung by Jack Jones. an American jazz and pop singer, largely popular during the 1960s.

Jones won two Grammy awards for "Best Pop Male Vocal" in 1962 and 1964. In later seasons of the show, the title song was "covered" (recorded by someone other than the original artist) by other singers, most notably Dionne Warwick. who is one of the most successful American singers of all time, with 56 songs being on the hit charts between the years of 1962-1998.

The Love Boat TV Theme was also known as "Ready to Take a Chance Again". Take a look at our list of other TV theme songs.
